CONTRIBUTE TOWARD THE SALARY OF A COW WORKER
At full capacity, a model sanctuary will support about 700 cows. The goal of the sanctuary is not only to protect the cows, but also to accept the valuable gifts they offer us. Managing the cows, the shelters, the feed and watering stations, milking the cows, and collecting cow dung and urine require some human effort. You can support these activities by making a donation and specifying that it is to be used toward the salary of workers who take care of the property and the cows.
KINDNESS, COMPASSION, AND THE SACREDNESS OF LIFE
Ensuring that the cows do not suffer from disease is also a part of their protection. Cows can suffer from Leukemia, Brucellosis, Tuberculosis, and more. Not only do these diseases cause suffering for the cow, they can also create disease in humans who consume milk and milk products. If your desire is to help support seasonal inoculations, you may specify that your donation be used for this activity.
Surgery to Remove Plastic/Trash from the Stomach
Cows that have been forced to live in the streets often suffer from the effects of eating whatever is available – including trash left by humans. Consumption of plastic is an especially common problem, and the only way the plastic can be eliminated is by surgical means. You can help alleviate this particularly heart-breaking form of suffering by donating and specifying that your donation is to be used for surgery.
Build a Shelter
The model cow sanctuary can accommodate about 700 cattle, and is divided into 5 sections. Each section has its own shed, feeding and water stations, and land to graze. A new sanctuary can come about when land is donated for the cause. The next step is to build a shelter with feeding and watering stations. Your donations to this effort can help expand the operation and help achieve the goal of getting all the stray cattle off the streets and into a compassionate environment. When you donate, you may specify that your funds are to go toward building a new shelter.
